Coupons 101

Coupons are a great way to get new customers or encourage frequent customers to keep coming back. Many restaurants will run a coupon online or even through an email blast to try and get more traffic to their establishment.

When to Run Coupons

Coupons are usually popular around holidays or if the restaurant is celebrating an anniversary. There doesn’t always have to be a reason to hand out a coupon though, it is always a customer favorite to have “free money” to their favorite restaurant or if they want to try something for the first time. Another great time to run a coupon is if you have a new menu item. This allows customers to try it for free or at a discounted rate when they purchase their usual menu items. You can also send coupons to people through email marketing when it is their birthday. This is a nice way to make the customers feel special.

What to Include

Coupons should be easy to read and understand by any present or future customer. They are usually monetary or percentage-based, for example, a $10 or 20% off your next purchase. You can also do the free menu item mentioned above. Coupons should always include an expiration date so there is more urgency to visit your restaurant. They are easy to set up in your marketing panel for you to start using ASAP!
