Managing Event Alerts Overview:

This article will break down how to create, edit and delete Event Alerts

Global Alerts

Global alerts are set up by chain to alert specific people to events occurring at any location. For example, your technical support team would be alerted any time an Agent doesn’t check-in for any location

Edit Global Alerts

To edit a Global Alert, from the Event Logging Tab:

  1. Select the Global Alerts subtab

  2. Click the pencil icon to the left of the Global Alert that you wish to edit

  3. Enter the email address where you would like the alert sent

  4. Click Update

  5. Repeat the above steps for each Global Alert that needs editing

Adding Text Message Alerts for Events by Carrier

Setting up text messages for particular events can be done by adding a phone number to the Event Log page as instructed below. Make sure that your cellular plan includes email to text before proceeding. Most major cellular carriers have an SMS Gateway, which allows you to send emails to a mobile number's built-in email address. The format is usually [email protected].

Adding Text Message Alerts for Events AT&T

To send a text message to an AT&T wireless number using email, you can use the email-to-text feature by following these steps:

  1. Compose a new email

  2. Enter the recipient's 10-digit wireless number

  3. Add @txt.att.net for a text message

  4. Add @mms.att.net for a picture or video message

  5. Do not include dashes or spaces between the numbers

AT&T customers with text messaging-capable devices can send and receive messages for a per-message fee. The price per message varies by rate plan or offer.

AT&T customers can also use the Voicemail-to-Text feature to forward voicemail messages to a designated email address. The email will include a text and audio file version of each message

Adding Text Message Alerts for Events T-Mobile

To send a text message to a T-Mobile number using email, you can use the recipient's phone number and the email domain @tmomail.net:

  1. Open an email client and select Compose

  2. In the To field, enter the recipient's 10-digit phone number followed by @tmomail.net

  3. Add a subject line and compose your message

  4. Click Send

The recipient will receive the text message, and replies will be sent to your email.

Adding Text Message Alerts for Events Verizon

To send a text message to a Verizon mobile number from an email, you can use the recipient's 10-digit phone number followed by @vtext.com in the "To" field:

Steps

  1. Compose a new email as if you were sending a standard email

  2. In the "To" field, enter the recipient's 10-digit phone number followed by @vtext.com

  3. Keep your message under 140 characters, including the subject line and recipient's email address

  4. Remove your email signature before sending

  5. Hit send

You can also send a picture or video message to a Verizon mobile number by using the recipient's 10-digit phone number followed by @vzwpix.com in the "To" field.

To turn email-to-text off, you can text "Off" to 4040. To turn it back on, you can text "On" to 4040.

Verizon's email-to-text service is intended for low-volume consumer use only and is not for commercial or emergency purposes.

Create an Event Alert for a Location:

To create an event alert, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the Event Logging Tab

Step 2: Select the Alert Subscriptions subtab

Step 3: Select Add Store Alert

Step 4: Enter the Email Address where you would like the alert sent

Step 5: Click Lookup

Step 6: Check the boxes next to any events that this email address should receive

Step 7: Click Submit


Edit an Event Alert for a Location:

To edit an existing event alert, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the Event Logging Tab

Step 2: Select the Alert Subscriptions subtab

Step 3: Click the pencil icon to the left of the alert or alert subscription that you wish to edit

Step 4: Update the Alert Subscriptions, and check off the boxes that need adjustment

Step 5: Click Submit


Cancel an Event Alert for a Location:

To edit an existing event alert, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the Event Logging Tab

Step 2: Select the Alert Subscriptions subtab

Step 3: Click the trash can icon to the left of the alert or alert subscription that you wish to cancel
