Overview
Lunchbox Loyalty on the Toast Guest Facing Display (GFD) allows in-store customers to look up their loyalty profile and apply available rewards themselves, directly from the GFD tablet connected to the Toast terminal. Lookup is supported by phone number, email, or QR code, which users can scan via the Lunchbox app.
Before this capability, the same loyalty lookup and reward application could only be performed by the cashier at the Toast terminal. With the "Sign In via GFD" Feature Flag enabled by Toast, customers can complete the loyalty step on their own while placing an order in the restaurant.
Prerequisites
Before using and applying Lunchbox Loyalty on the Toast Guest Facing Display, the following must be confirmed and working:
The guest performing loyalty look up and reward redemption must be registered with the Lunchbox restaurant partner, via app or website. Loyalty sign-up is not part of this integration. Customers without a Lunchbox Loyalty account must first sign up through the Lunchbox app or mobile web before they can sign in at the GFD.

Toast In-Store Loyalty is connected and working at the location. Cashiers should already be able to look up customers. Cashiers should already be able to look up guests and redeem rewards from the Toast Terminal using phone, email, or QR code, as covered in https://support.lunchbox.io/en/articles/8684393-2w-toast-in-store-guest-lookup-reward-redemption-guide-lb-2-0#h_868b493110. The GFD feature extends this same lookup to the customer-facing display.
The "Sign In via GFD" Feature Flag is enabled by Toast at the brand or location level. This flag is controlled by Toast and must be enabled by the restaurant directly. To request enablement, the restaurant contacts Toast Customer Care or the restaurant's assigned Toast Customer Success Manager. How to reach Toast Customer Care:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Request a case number during the support interaction. The case number is the unique identifier for the request and is useful for follow-up.
Limitations
The following limitations apply to Lunchbox Loyalty on the Toast Guest Facing Display.
Loyalty sign-up is not supported on the Toast POS or the Guest Facing Display. Customers must create a Lunchbox Loyalty account through the Lunchbox ordering app or website before they can sign in at the GFD.
Not all Lunchbox Loyalty reward types are available for in-store redemption. Bankable Rewards are not supported in this flow.
Toast displays only the rewards that apply to items currently selected on the active order, since the system validates rewards against the order in progress.
For example, if a customer has $10 in reward dollars and a Free Fries reward, but fries are not part of the in-store order, only the reward dollars will appear as redeemable during the loyalty lookup.
💡To view all available rewards on the account, including those tied to specific menu items not yet on the order, perform the loyalty lookup before selecting any items on the POS.
Guest Experience
This section walks through the in-store flow from the moment a customer places an order at the Toast Terminal to the moment they receive their receipt. The loyalty lookup and reward redemption are performed by the guest, who is previously registered with Lunchbox, directly on the Guest Facing Display. At the same time, the cashier continues to ring in the order at the Toast Terminal.
Step 1: Starting the order at the Toast Terminal.
If the customer does not yet have a Lunchbox Loyalty account, they will need to download the Lunchbox app or sign up on mobile web before signing in. Loyalty sign-up is not available on the Toast POS or GFD.
Step 2: On the Guest Facing Display, the customer selects a check-in method: phone number, email, or QR code from the Lunchbox app.
Step 3: The customer enters their phone number, email address, or scans their QR code, then selects Check in
Step 4: Redeeming a reward
If any rewards are available on the account, the GFD displays the list of redeemable rewards. The customer selects a reward from the list and chooses Redeem now. The reward is applied to the active order, and the discount is reflected on both the GFD and the cashier's Toast Terminal.
Step 5: Completing the payment
The GFD displays the order summary screen, showing item details, applied discounts, subtotal, tax, and total.
At this point, the cashier's terminal shows the same applied loyalty discount on the active check, confirming the redemption was successful.
Step 6: To complete the payment, the customer either taps, inserts, or swipes a card, or presents the Lunchbox Loyalty Scan to Pay QR code from the Lunchbox app.
In the tip and signature screen, the customer selects a tip amount, enters a signature, and selects Continue.
In the receipt screen, the customer selects a receipt delivery method.
