Overview

The Favorite and Closest Locations feature helps signed-in customers find the most relevant store when starting an order. Favorited locations appear at the top of the list, followed by the closest available stores when location access is granted. If access is not shared, locations follow alphabetical order. The experience is consistent across web and mobile apps.

Limitations

  1. Favorite locations are available only for signed-in customers.

  2. Favorites always appear before distance-based or alphabetical sorting.

  3. Distance-based sorting depends on device location permission. Allowing location sharing will sort locations by distance

Save a Location as a Favorite

The ability to save a location as a favorite is available only to signed-in customers.

When a customer is not signed in:

  1. The heart icon is not displayed.

  2. Locations cannot be saved as favorites.

When a customer signs in:

  1. The heart icon becomes visible on each location.

  2. Selecting the heart icon saves the location as a favorite.

  3. Customers can save one or more locations.

After the first location is saved:

  1. The favorite location appears at the top of the location list.

  2. All saved favorite locations are displayed in this section and presented in alphabetical order.

  3. Location sharing is not required to save a favorite.

Location Organization and Sorting Logic

Location sorting depends on two factors:

  1. Whether the customer is signed in

  2. Whether location access is granted

When location access is not granted

  1. Locations are sorted alphabetically by default.

  2. If the customer has saved favorites, the Favorites section appears at the top.

  3. Multiple favorites are sorted alphabetically within the Favorites section.

  4. All remaining locations are sorted alphabetically.

When location access is granted

  1. Locations are sorted by distance, with the closest location displayed first.

  2. If the customer has saved favorites, the favorite location appears at the top of the location list

  3. Multiple favorites are sorted alphabetically at the top of the location list

  4. All other, non-favorite locations are sorted by distance.

This behavior is consistent across Web, iOS, and Android.

๐Ÿ’กThe feature reduces the time required to find the right store. It highlights the locations customers visit frequently and makes it easier to begin an order from a preferred or nearby location.

The examples below show how favorite locations and location sorting appear to customers after signing in.
