Overview
The Lunchbox platform now allows setting minimum and maximum quantity limits on items. This feature helps control costs by limiting selections of high-cost items and is easily configured via Lunchbox Admin. It is effective even if the POS doesn't support this functionality.
Configuration
IMPORTANT NOTE: The option to set minimum and maximum item quantity will be available in the New Admin, but for now, it can only be set NovaDine Admin, so the article is listed under the NovaDine wiki. This page content will be updated as soon as the feature becomes available in the New Admin. Stay tuned!
💡 You can read more about item min max settings in the NovaDine (Old) Admin and see how to configure it, create different rules according to available item sizes, and remove the set rules.
User Experience
When configured in the ND Dashboard, the set rule is automatically applied to the menus available on the Web and Mobile apps
For example, we've set a max quantity of 5 for the Coffee item
If the user tries to select more than 5 coffee items on the ordering website or app, the notification is displayed: Maximum quantity you can select is 5 for 'Coffee'
Limitations
The feature can only be set in the ND Dashboard
FAQ
Q: I set up the max quantity for an item, but the same item is used as a modifier, as a part of the picklist. Now the modifier has the set maximum quantity, and I don't want that. How do I fix it?
A: You need to create a new GUID (either for an item or a modifier, depending on the menu configuration) and set up mix/max quantity accordingly.
