IMPORTANT NOTE: The merchant account will be provided in the configuration workbook when it has to be set for a payment gateway. This is not something our team should be generating on the client's behalf.

To set up a new test Merchant account, navigate to Settings > Merchant accounts> Request new merchant account

Then, you'll be navigated to a setup page to choose between setting up a test merchant account or a live one.

To create a test merchant account, select "YES - I only want a test merchant account and do not plan on bringing this account to live in the near future."

You'll be asked to confirm that you want to create a Test account, and to do so please select "I only need a test account" to proceed with the setup.

After confirmation, the form to Add a new merchant account will appear

In the General part, add or select the following

  • The Account code can be any free input, but it needs to start with an upper case letter or a number and it must contain at least 6 characters; for example "QAtesting" or "Configuration"

    • Following the Relay, this would be a chain name_store number

  • The Sales channel should be E-commerce. Select it from the drop-down if it wasn't previously selected

  • Country/Region can be selected in the drop-down or you can select the checkbox to use the company account country/ region

  • Enter the merchant's city

  • Select Primary settlement currency or select the checkbox to use default currency for the country/ region of the company

In the Payment methods,

  • Add Payment methods: Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover, Apple Pay and Google Pay

  • You can select Diners Club as well if the client wants to support it

Finally, select the Create Account button to create your Merchant account. The page will refresh and you'll be navigated to the Merchant account page. You'll find your newly created Merchant ID which we'll use to configure a payment gateway in the Admin dashboard

Copy the Merchant account code from the Adyen platform and add it in Gateway settings under Merchant Accounts in the Admin dashboard.

TBD: Setting up a live merchant account will be added to the documentation after getting access
