Disclaimer: This article is for Lunchbox 2.0 customers only. If your dashboard header looks the same as below, you are in the right place:


Lunchbox Menus are pulled into the Admin Dashboard through two types of Menu Syncing: Initial Menu Syncs (Occurs during onboarding), and Subsequent Menu Syncs (which occur after a menu is published). Certain sections of the menu are set to only be included in the first import unless special requests are made. Any new menu imports will require updates in two places. The following is a list of menu-related items that should be finalized on the Brink Admin Dashboard before doing the first menu sync, otherwise, you run the risk of having to do double the work.


Initial Menu Syncs Include:

IMPORTANT: Menu categories should never need to be manually built in Lunchbox! These should always import by having the bound to the Online menu.

Example: Menus (locate your Online menu)> Add Menu Category> Add Pizza

Menus

  • New Menus - Name, menu groups, menu item groups, and location availability

Menu Item Groups

  • New Menu Item Group - Name, description, menu items in a group, and location availability ^

Menu Option Groups

  • New Menu Option Groups - Name, menu modifier options, modifiers in the group, min/max selections, and location availability ^

Menu Items

  • New Menu Items - Name, description, price, location availability & in stock out of stock status

Order Display will appear as it does from the Brink Ordering Screen & Inventory/Item Qty, (Only when this is enabled on the Admin Dashboard on the item level.) Menu Modifier Groups and Modifiers within the group.

Menu Modifiers:

  • New Menu Modifiers - Name, description, price, location availability, menu modifier groups, modifiers within those groups & in stock out of stock status

Order Display will appear as it does from the Brink Ordering Screen, Modifier Required Min Max & Inventory/Item Qty (Only when this is enabled on the Admin Dashboard on the item level).

Images are not currently supported on the initial sync with the Brink Integration and will need to be manually added to Lunchbox.

Subsequent Menu Syncs Include:

Menus

  • New Menus - Name, menu groups, menu item groups, and location availability

  • Previously Imported Menus - Location availability ^^

Menu Item Groups

  • New Menu Item Group - Name, description, menu items in a group, and location availability ^

  • Previously Imported Menu Item Group - Location availability ^^

Menu Option Groups

  • New Menu Option Groups - Name, menu modifier options, modifiers in the group, min/max selections, and location availability ^

  • Previously Imported Menu Option Groups - Min/max selections, and location availability ^^

Menu Items

  • New Menu Items - Name, description, price, location availability & in stock out of stock status

Order Display will appear as it does from the Brink Ordering Screen & Inventory/Item Qty, (Only when this is enabled on the Admin Dashboard on the item level.) Menu Modifier Groups and Modifiers within the group.

  • Previously Imported Menu Items - Price, location availability & in stock out of stock status

Order Display will appear as it does from the Brink Ordering Screen unless overridden on the admin dashboard, Inventory/Item Qty (Only when this is enabled on the Admin Dashboard on the item level).

Menu Modifiers:

  • New Menu Modifiers - Name, description, price, location availability, menu modifier groups, modifiers within those groups & in stock out of stock status

Order Display will appear as it does from the Brink Ordering Screen, Modifier Required Min Max & Inventory/Item Qty (Only when this is enabled on the Admin Dashboard on the item level).

  • Previously Imported Menu Modifiers - Price, and location availability & in stock out of stock status

Order Display will appear as it does from the Brink Ordering Screen unless overridden on the admin dash, Modifier Required & Min Max, Inventory/Item Qty (Only when this is enabled on the Admin Dashboard on the item level.)

Menu Structure Rules

The following is a list of rules and restrictions required to have a successful Brink Menu Integration.

Included Modifiers/Default Modifier Rules

Note: When configuring Included Modifiers it is important to note that you cannot have both auto add and included checked off. It should be one or the other. We DO NOT support the Auto Add functionality from Brink. The Brink API does not support having both setup.

Incorrect Setup

Correct Setup

  • Included: This means that the Modifier Item will be applied to the Item, and it will show up in the chits.

Or

  • Auto Add: This means that the Modifier Item will be applied to the Item, Since it is added to the items, it will not show up in the chits.

To adjust this setting in the POS.

Step 1: Click the modifier link.

Step 2: Uncheck the Auto Add checkbox.

Step 3: Click OK.

Step 4: Click OK on the item and Publish the change set.

Manual Size/Option Item Consolidation

Should a restaurant wish to take multiple Items from Brink POS that come in varying sizes/options and consolidate them down into a single item block in Lunchbox then we can manually make this adjustment.

Example: Items in Brink Are...

  1. BBQ Wings

  2. Hot Wings

  3. Honey BBQ Wings

and in Lunchbox you want them to appear as

  1. Chicken Wings

    1. BBQ Wings

    2. Hot Wings

    3. Honey BBQ Wings

To achieve this lunchbox will...

  • Create an item in the Lunchbox Database

  • Manually add sizes to it

  • Assign the external IDs to the item/size in Brink so that it references the proper item in the POS.

Once this is configured modifiers will import for the sized items because everything is based on the manually added external IDs.
