Installing the Receipt Rewards's Cord
Installation of the Copper Cord needs to be completed by the restaurant partner.
IMPORTANT: The following steps apply to POS terminals with RJ-12 powered ports and receipt printers that accept DB-25 plugs. (Example: NCR terminals and printers.)
PRE-REQUISITE: Disconnect the existing printer cable from both the POS terminal and the printer, and then do the following:
Step 1: Plug the end of the copper cord with the printer icon into the DB-25 adapter and then into the printer.
Step 2: Plug the other end of the Copper cord with the POS icon on it into the terminal port.
Step 3: Do a test print from the POS to confirm the Copper Cord is functioning properly.
Successful Installation Validation Steps!
In-Store Loyalty: With in-store loyalty, make sure to print something with a zero balance. When configured correctly, a QR Code will print
Payments: For any receipt that does not have a zero balance, a QR Code will print and allow the user to scan and pay using their phone.
Marketing Material: The marketing adjustments will print on the receipt no matter the balance.
Connecting the Cord to Wifi
Step 1: Press and hold the button on the Copper Cord until it begins flashing white (14-15 seconds), and then release the button to put the Copper Cord in Provisioning Mode. (The white light will continue flashing.) You should receive a printout that looks like this

Step 2: Scanning this QR Code will open the option to download the COPPER Connect App on an IOS or Android device.
If a mobile device is not available, you can also use Chrome on a laptop to discover the cord at https://connect.usecopper.com/
Step 3: Select Scan in the Copper Connect app to locate the nearby Copper Cord(s) in Provisioning Mode. (If multiple Copper Cords are in Provisioning Mode within range, each cord should be listed in the Connect app.)
Step 4: Enter the Network Name and Password for the merchant’s WiFi and select Ok.
Step 5: The Copper Cord’s LED will flash blue, then orange, then settle with a solid green light. At this point, it will print its registration Code.
Setting Up and Adding the Cord to the Dashboard
Navigate to https://console.usecopper.com/ and log in with your credentials.
Adding a restaurant brand to the copper dashboard
Step 1: Select the Merchant Section of the Admin Panel
Step 2: Select the New Button in the Merchant section
Step 3: Fill out the modal for the Restaurant Group
Adding Locations to the Merchant
Step 1: Select the 'New' button from the Merchant dashboard.
Step 2: Fill out all the necessary information for the 'New Location' modal.
Step 3: Select the location that was just created.
Step 4: Select 'New' in the devices section of the location
Step 5: Input the code that was printed from the printer in step 5 of Connecting the Cord to Wifi
Configuration with Lunchbox
Note: This will be done by your Lunchbox Representative!
Initial configuration takes place on the Copper dashboard. We must then import the Merchant ID, Location ID, and Device IDs into the LB database.
Connecting Copper <> Lunchbox Loyalty Engine
Note: This will be done by your Lunchbox Representative!
Step 1: Submit a Change Request ticket with ENG to turn on the Copper Web Service and include the following details
Name of the Chain
Link to the brand-specific copied version of the Receipt Rewards Config Template (Add this sheet to the Restaurant Partner's Shared Google Drive)
In-Store Loyalty Configuration
Step 1: In the Copper Console navigate to: Merchants>(Click on the Merchant)>(Click on Location)>"QR Code Settings" Enable QR Code on receipts from POS on Copper's Location Admin Panel
Step 2: Fill out the following information...
Before QR: Optional should provide scanning directions
Custom URL: Location-specific deep link for the restaurant tied to this Copper Device. This can be found by navigating to the restaurant partner's ordering URL and selecting a location. Copy and paste the URL from the location screen.
After QR: Optional text should provide scanning directions.
Step 3: Click save to save your changes.
Marketing Material Configuration
In the Copper Console navigate to: Merchants>(Click on the Merchant)>(Click on Location)>"Branding"
Step 1: Upload the assets to the modal(Typically Logos or other assets that represent your brand):
(Image Requirements: 64x64 and 500x500 - Black & White recommended.)
Step 2: Add Website URL: (Suggest the Customer Online Ordering URL or link to App Download)
Step 3: Click save to save your changes.
Pay In-Store Configuration - Not Yet Released
Step 1: In the Copper Console navigate to: Merchants>(Click on the Merchant)>(Click on Location)>"QR Code Settings" Enable QR Code on bills from POS on Copper's Location Admin Panel
Step 2: Fill out the following information...
