Web Design: Menu (LB 2.0)

Written by Marija Golubovic

Overview

This article explains how Admin users can organize modifiers and set a menu disclaimer through the Admin dashboard. The Menu modifiers section controls how users move through required and optional modifier groups when customizing a menu item, and the menu disclaimer displays at the bottom of the menu page in the ordering platform and supports an optional hyperlink that directs guests to a page with additional information about company policies and procedures

Menu Modifier - modifier group behavior

To control modifier group behavior on the item page, we should access the Admin panel and navigate to Design> Web> Menu> Menu Modifier.

The modifier group behavior has several options:

  • Follow Sorting Sequence: When enabled, modifier groups follow the picklist (modifier group) sort order instead of moving required groups to the top.

  • Enable Auto-Scrolling: When enabled, the system automatically scrolls guests through modifier groups on the item screen.

Additional modifier group behavior options:

  • Legacy Mode, which nests required groups to the top. No automatic movement. The user must manually scroll to find optional items.

  • Classic Guided, which nests the required groups at the top. System autoscrolls through all Required items. Once the Required items are finished, it scrolls to the first Optional item. When Classic Guided is selected, the Enable Auto Scrolling option is automatically selected.

  • Sequential Manual, which groups follow Sort Order as set in Menu manager (e.g., Size modifier group -> Optional modifier group -> Required modifier group if set like this in modifier group/ picklist in Old admin). No automatic scroll; user navigates the custom-ordered list manually. Selecting this option automatically activates the Follow Sorting Sequence toggle

  • Total Guided, which groups the Sort order as set in the Menu manager. The system autoscrolls from the very first item (usually Size) to the last, regardless of whether the modifier group is required or optional.

    • NOTE: If "Default" modifier groups are placed at the top in Admin, the UI starts there and scrolls down through Optional/Required as they appear in the list.

    • If Total Guided is selected, the Follow Sorting Sequence and Enable Auto-scrolling are automatically set to active

To set up the behavior, we must select at least one of the options on the right side, and it will automatically select the required behavior listed on the right.

Once we are done with the selection, we must select the Save button to save the settings. Navigate to the item page, refresh it, and check if the required behavior is applied.
