Overview
Search Menu helps guests find menu items faster by filtering the menu as keywords are typed into the search field. Results update while typing, so items can be located without scrolling through categories.
Limitations
Search results depend on menu item naming and how items are configured.
Items that are hidden or unavailable do not appear in results.
Search does not surface items outside the active menu experience.
Search behavior
Search Menu is supported across Lunchbox online ordering POS integrations. No configuration is required. Search Menu is enabled by default for Lunchbox 2.0 ordering experiences.
The search field appears at the top of the menu’s category list (label: Search Items). As text is entered, the menu updates in real time to show matching items. Clearing the search restores the full menu view.
Only items that are currently available on the menu appear in search results. Search keeps the guest in the menu experience and narrows the view to relevant items. This is most useful when looking for a specific item name or keyword.
