How to submit a wallet drop request?

Overview

The Wallet Drop is a loyalty feature that allows restaurant partners to instantly issue a unique reward to all guests or a specific guest segment. Wallet Drops include an expiration time, which creates urgency and encourages guests to place an order within a limited window. This article explains how to submit a Wallet Drop request and outlines the required details for the request.

Wallet drop request requirements

To initiate the process, restaurant partners should submit a Wallet Drop request.

Please note:

  • All requests must include a POS Discount ID that is active and redeemable across all participating locations, as configured in the restaurant partner’s POS system. Once the wallet drop is configured in Lunchbox, it will be made available for partner testing.

  • Wallet Drop submissions must be received at least 5 business days before the desired drop date. Please have all Holiday Wallet drop requests submitted at least 10 business days prior to the desired drop date.

  • Any changes must be requested at least two business days prior to the drop.

  • Post-drop changes will not be accommodated.

Here's what needs to be submitted:

  1. Name of person requesting wallet drop: Ex: Janet Smith from <Restaurant Name>)

  2. Email of person requesting wallet drop: Ex: [email protected])

  3. Additional contact emails (any additional contacts who will need to participate in partner testing, separated by commas)

  4. Restaurant Group Name

  5. CSV sheet containing a subset of users (if the campaign is not meant for all users from the database. In this case, the CSV must contain a list of customer emails who should receive the drop. These can be generated in customer.io by setting up a segment and downloading that list of users. Here's a Sample wallet_drop_form.csv

  6. The reward name should be included. The reward and discount will be named with this exact text, so be precise and do not include the words wallet drop.

  7. CLU (Loyalty Code) for the campaign. It can be alphanumeric and in lowercase letters. No special characters are allowed

  8. The reward description should be added to clearly describe the reward (e.g., Free 12oz Green Juice with $10 Purchase). Include limitations and expiration dates.

  9. POS Discount External ID as Wallet drops must not be linked to existing Lunchbox discounts. They require the creation of new discounts in the POS and new coupons within the Lunchbox system

  10. Promotion Start Date

  11. Promotion Expiration Date, which is the final day that the coupon can be redeemed. Ex Expires at 11:59 PM on the day entered

  12. Rolling Day Reward Expirationm which is a number between 1 and 30 for the number of days that you want the reward to remain in the guest's wallet.

  13. Answer the "Does this wallet drop apply to all locations?"

    1. If the answer is yes, select YES.

    2. If the answer is no, include the list of locations.

    3. If the POS Discount ID/GUID is different for each store, we must include the Discount ID next to each location. Example: Tuscaloosa - 23456753468721346

  14. Define the minimum purchase required to redeem the wallet drop reward, and keep in mind that Lunchbox Discounts are inclusive of the item. i.e., if I have a $10 min spend and get a discount of a bottle of water for $2, setting Min spend to $10 really means the customer needs to spend $8.

  15. Maximum discount amount able to be redeemed

  16. Set a limit per order

  18. Define if the reward can be combined with other discounts?*

  19. Define if the reward includes modifiers?*

  20. Choose the service types the reward applies to

  21. Define whether the reward item or category-based reward

  22. If so, include the category or items that need to be added to the coupon bank in Lunchbox. If these are redeemed in-store using different in-store menus, then include the categories or items on the in-store menu as well. As much info as possible.

  23. Provide any additional details you would like the Lunchbox team to be aware of for this request.


FAQ

  • Q: I am a new user. I just signed up today, but I haven't received the reward.

  • A: Wallet drops will not be given to new users who sign up after the drop is given on the morning of a wallet drop. Example: The drop happens at 6 AM
