Overview
This guide explains how to change the status of an online restaurant location from test mode into live mode in the Lunchbox 2.0 Admin Dashboard. The guide is helpful for admin users who manage locations and need to activate a store after it has been fully built and tested.
Prerequisites & Dependencies
Before turning a location on, make sure the following points are met:
A restaurant location is completely set up inside the Admin Dashboard
The location is tested, so menu items, prices, hours, and payment options display correctly
A management-level dashboard account with permission to open the Operate tab and edit location settings is available
The Implementation Manager reviews the final configuration and confirms the location is ready to be turned on
IMPORTANT NOTE: Locations should only be turned on after receiving approval from the Implementation Project Manager
Limitations
Only users with management permissions can access Edit Location
A location should not be turned live without an Implementation Manager’s confirmation
Launch timing may depend on integration, POS sync status, and final QA pass
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Log in to the Lunchbox Admin Dashboard
Access the dashboard through the Jump to Admin button on the restaurant’s ordering website or by signing in directly with admin credentials.
Step 2: Go to Operate and select Locations. In the dashboard sidebar, open the Operate tab and click on Locations.
Step 3: Select the location you are launching. Find the location that needs to be launched. Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the location card and select Edit.
Step 4: Set the location Status to Live. Inside the Edit Location screen, open the Status field and set it to Live.
Step 5: Confirm Test Store is turned off. Scroll down to Configuration Info. Make sure the Test Store toggle is set to No. This removes the location from testing mode.
Step 6: Notify the Lunchbox team.
Once the location is fully set to live, send an email to [email protected] confirming the activation.
Email template:
Hello Lunchbox,
This email confirms that we have turned on (LOCATION NAME + BRAND).
Step 7: Location launch complete
The location is now live and ready to receive orders.
Setup Validation
After updating the location:
• Confirm ordering is available on the live website
• Verify menu accuracy and pricing
• Confirm no test indicators remain
• Complete a test order if required by the Project Manager
