Overview
This article explains how the platform user, but also the Admin dashboard user, can reset a password when they cannot log in because the password is forgotten or no longer works. The reset process uses the Forgot Password option on the login page and requires access to the email inbox connected to the admin account.
Prerequisites and Dependencies
An account must be created, and the email must be associated with the registered account in order to receive a password reset email. If the email requesting a password is not registered with the account, the password reset email won't be delivered.
User must have access to the inbox of the email used for account registration. Currently, when a forgotten password is triggered, the system sends a unique pin code to the email address
Reset a Password via ordering platforms
A password can be reset from the login screen using the Forgot Password option. The steps below describe the full process.
Step 1: Select the Login button on the ordering website home page, located in the top right corner
Navigate to the ordering website or Try to reset password from the chain entry page used by the brand. Then click Login.
Step 2: Select Forgot Password
On the login screen, select Forgot Password beneath the password input field.
This opens a pop-up window requesting the email address connected to the admin account.
Step 3: Enter the Admin Email
Type the email address associated with the admin account.
Select Reset Password to request a reset link.
Step 4: Check the Inbox
Open the email inbox and locate the message containing the reset link.
If the message is not visible, check spam folder. Select the link in the email.
Step 5: Create a New Password
A page opens with fields to enter a new password and confirm it.
After setting up a new password, the account is ready to log in with the updated password.
Support and Escalation Path
If the password cannot be reset:
Internal team support: If login still fails after the password has been reset, gather basic information, such as screenshots or error messages. Send the admin email and the collected details to the Operations or Product team for further review.
Lunchbox Support can submit a ticket with the tenant name, email address associated with the account requesting a password reset, and any error message shown.
