Overview
The Bank Loyalty system lets guests turn the points they earn from purchases into rewards. Depending on how many points they’ve collected, they can choose from a range of available perks. It’s a simple way for restaurants to drive repeat visits and build stronger connections with their guests.
In this article, we’ll cover how to set up Bankable Perks, outline any system limitations, and walk through what you need to know to get started.
General Feature Information, Prerequisites & Dependencie
The bank rewards are introduced as a new perk type, allowing the reuse of the existing rewards architecture. This approach simplifies the setup and allows us to utilize the currently available rewards by choosing the "bankable" perk type when creating a perk. Existing reward types, such as free items, discounts, or coupons, can be reused as bankable rewards by creating a perk. This eliminates the need to create entirely new rewards for the bankable system, offering a significant benefit and saving time for configuration.
To make sure the Loyalty system is set up correctly, confirm that the Enable Loyalty toggle is turned on for each service type the client wants to support.
To use Bankable Perks, the loyalty system must be configured to allow users to earn and redeem points. Once enabled, guests can start collecting points and later use them to claim available rewards.
This builds on our existing loyalty functionality, such as setting tiers, defining point conversion rates, and creating rewards. Bankable Perks simply layer on top, giving clients more flexibility. They can adjust point multipliers, earning factors, and other settings to create a more dynamic and personalized experience.
The key difference between Bankable perks and other perks lies in the ability to set a point value for rewards, determining the cost for users. This is in addition to the existing logic for earning points through tiers and multipliers
To create a Bankable Perk,
We need to create a new Perk and choose the new perk type - bankable, and select items to include in the Bankable Perk
We can also:
Set a limit on the times a user can redeem each reward included in the Bankable Perk
Set rewards to be available for certain tiers or to a group of users with a specific number of points or higher
Set a required minimum purchase amount for reward redemption. These rules are derived from the underlying coupon GUID for coupon-based rewards. For credit rewards, there are no rules currently
We can control bank reward availability by setting the Status toggle to activated/ deactivated. Every time someone wants to change the status, a warning prompt will appear requesting action confirmation.
