Overview
Service Types are dining options used to manage settings for Pickup, Delivery, Catering Pickup, Catering Delivery, Curbside pickup, but also 3PD Order Aggregation, and Gift cards. Depending on the service type availability, users can select food ordering options and start their order on a restaurant's ordering site or app.
3PD and Gift cards are treated as service types, even tho they can not be selected on the Ordering site or app, simply because they have to be enabled as a service type to work properly.
Service Type page
To get to the Service Type page,
Select Operate in the left sidebar
Select Service types
Global and local service type settings
What you see on the Service Type page depends on your role and permissions in the organization. Some team members will only see local setup options, while others with broader access can view and manage global settings.
Local setup
Team members with the local setup options won't be able to select different locations, they will only have visibility into the location they manage. On the Service type page, they will be able to:
Select their store location
View the service types
Edit local service type
After choosing a location and selecting a service type (without selecting the Edit or Delete buttons), they will see the note about editing service type for the selected location
Global Setup
Team members with broader access will be able to:
View the service type IDs sorted by their service type ID
View and set up the global level Service Types:
Edit Global Service Types
Delete Global Service Types
Without selecting a location, they can view and select the Add Global Service Type button
Select different locations to view and set up, but in this case, the Add Global Service Type button will not be available. The Add Global Service Type button is only available when no location is selected.
After choosing a location and selecting a service type (without selecting the Edit Global or Delete Global buttons), they will see the note about editing service type for the selected location
