Overview

Gift cards are prepaid certificates issued by the restaurant, used as an alternative to cash or credit, allowing guests to purchase goods within a particular restaurant or restaurant group. They can be physical or virtual gift cards purchased and sent to another guest for redemption in the restaurant or at checkout online or in-app.

Lunchbox Gift Cards are powered by eCard Business Systems

eCard Systems is a gift card provider that offers an API that allows Lunchbox to integrate into their various platforms and provides guests with physical and electronic gift cards to purchase and redeem in-store and online. eCard Systems also works with a large number of POS Solutions to be available for use not just for Lunchbox orders but also for POS orders as well.

Limitations

• Only ONE Escrow Location can be used to hold the Gift Card Liability

• Instore capabilities (Purchase/Redeem/Balance Inquiry: Physical Giftcard, Key-in, QR-Code) are only supported with the following POS:

  • Toast

  • Square (Coming Jan 2024)

• You can not see Toast/Square purchased gift cards in Lunchbox

• All Physical Gift Card purchases have to be done In-Store

Supported POS

Any POS is supported for Digital Gift Cards purchased and redeemed online through Lunchbox products.
